Visas and Entry Requirements

Before booking your travel, please verify if you require a visa to enter Singapore. Visa requirements vary by nationality. The most reliable place to check is with the official Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore website or your nearest Singapore embassy or consulate.

Important Note: All travelers must submit a free online SG Arrival Card within three days of their arrival in Singapore. This is a mandatory electronic health and immigration declaration and is separate from a visa.

Arriving at Changi Airport (SIN)

Changi Airport is a destination in itself. Upon arrival, you'll find clear signage to guide you through immigration, baggage claim, and to your choice of transport to the city.

Getting from Changi Airport to the City

Singapore offers several efficient and affordable transport options from the airport to your hotel.

  • Taxi / Private Hire Cars: For the quickest and most convenient option, head to the designated taxi stands at the Arrivals Hall of each terminal. A taxi ride to the city center takes about 20-30 minutes and costs approximately S25−S45, depending on traffic and surcharges. Ride-hailing apps like Grab, Gojek, and Tada are also widely used and can be booked via their mobile apps.

  • Mass Rapid Transit (MRT): The train is the most cost-effective way to get to the city. The Changi Airport MRT station is located in the basement of Terminals 2 and 3. You can reach the station from all terminals via the Skytrain or a short walk. The journey to the city center takes about 45 minutes and involves one simple change at Tanah Merah station.

  • Airport Transfer: Changi Airport offers dedicated private transfer services that can be booked in advance online or at counters in the Arrivals Hall. This is a great option for those traveling in a group or with a lot of luggage.

Getting Around Singapore

Once in the city, you'll find that Singapore's public transport system is one of the best in the world.

  • MRT and Buses: These are the most popular modes of transport for both locals and tourists. The network is extensive, clean, safe, and air-conditioned.

  • Contactless Payment: You can use your foreign-issued contactless credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard) directly on the card readers at MRT gates and on buses. This is the most convenient way to pay and avoids the need to purchase a separate travel card.

  • Singapore Tourist Pass: For delegates who plan to use public transport extensively for sightseeing, a Singapore Tourist Pass offers unlimited travel for a set number of days and can be a cost-effective option.

With these arrangements in place, you are ready to enjoy a seamless and productive visit to the World Diamond Congress in Singapore.
